Welcome to our website. We hope you enjoy learning all about our school!
The Model School, Dunmanway is a mixed primary school located in the heart of West Cork. We are a non-denominational school under the patronage of the Minister for Education and Skills. There are three mainstream class teachers, two learning support/resource teachers, two special needs assistants, a part-time secretary and a caretaker. Each classroom has an interactive whiteboard and we are very fortunate to have a large number of iPads and laptops available for whole-class activities. There is a warm, friendly atmosphere permeating throughout our school.

9.05am – School opens.
1.45pm – Junior & Senior infant home time.
2.45pm – 1st – 6th class home time.
The school uniform consists of a red crested jumper, light blue polo shirt, navy trousers or skirt, flat, black shoes or runners. We hope this will make it easier for children to decide what to wear. School is not a fashion arena. Slippers or indoor shoes are required for classroom use. For P.E., pupils need to wear runners and a tracksuit is also advisable. It is very important that all items of clothing are clearly labelled with each child’s name.
